While living in this world we will have trouble because it is not our home. As believers, we are not clueless on what to do and what attitude we should have whenever we go through tough times. We have precious promises that we can hold on to until “Joy comes in the morning”.
Below are a couple of verses that will build your faith and keep your hope alive as you walk through the ”dark valleys” of life:
1. 2 Timothy 3:12
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,
You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.
3.1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
4. 2 Corinthians 4:16
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.
In that day their burden will be lifted from your shoulders, their yoke from your neck; the yoke will be broken because you have grown so fat.
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
8.1 John 5:4-5
For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze
Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail.
Then Job replied to the Lord:“I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted
For with God nothing will be impossible.”
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
“I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?
